I want to be someone…
All I have ever wanted is to be somebody. Somebody who people can look up to. I want to make a difference with people. For a long time I’ve always wanted to mentor young girls, I dreamt of taking part in an organization like ‘Because I am a Girl’. I value women empowerment. Many women today have gone through many abusive relationships. We somehow let men run our lives. My uncle once asked me, “Why do you pretty girls always fall for the assholes?” Well I responded with, “unfortunately I think that’s how we learn”. And why is that? Why must we endure such heartache, to never make the same mistake again? Men abuse us mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, or all of the above. And it takes a real nasty relationship for a woman to go, “I will never be in that kind of relationship again”.
I find society helps with this. Women love the “bad boy” type. And why? Well media of course. The media for years always makes the “bad guy” look irresistible. Oh taking a bad boy in and “fixing” him to your liking. What women hasn’t had that thought? We constantly look for the troubled ones. What tv show/movies show the geeky nerd guy as the winner? No wonder women have this engrained in them.
I got my life back through Next Level, which is a personal growth & development program. It is transformative learning. Through this work you are able to put the past back into the past. You are able to live into the future you are creating rather than the identity you created through your past. We all have things in what we like to call our ‘blind spots’, and until we get present to them we will never be able to live a life powerfully.
